Sotera: Rethinking how we understand Contents risk.
I founded Sotera with a simple conviction: if we can model the risk to buildings, vehicles, and other major asset classes, we should be able to understand the risk to the things inside them.
After my family's homes and winery were destroyed in the California wildfires, a four-year insurance claim showed me firsthand how little visibility exists into the value and risk of Contents, and convinced me the system could work better for both insurers and the people they protect.
At Cambridge, that experience became the starting point for Sotera.
From a personal problem to a much bigger opportunity.
Working closely with insurers revealed that the challenge went far beyond individual claims. Contents remains a major asset class without the dedicated risk modelling infrastructure that exists elsewhere in insurance.
Today, we are building Contents Risk Modelling, an intelligence layer that helps insurers understand risk from individual objects and policies through to entire portfolios.
Building the intelligence layer for Contents risk.
Our ambition is to become the global standard for how Contents risk is analysed, understood and managed -bringing greater intelligence to an historically under-modelled asset class and enabling better risk decisions across the insurance lifecycle.
Today, we are building the intelligence infrastructure to make that possible.
